I am re-vamping and fleshing out my Prehistoric Cinderella concept. I will be fixing up, re-designing, and developing each character so this concept will be a worthy portfolio piece.
At this point I have only touched on Cinderella. I was told my old design did not say "leading lady." The changes I have made are an attempt to soften her and make a more sympathetic, appealing character.

This is a quick color study.
I used one of my hundreds of random reference images as the background because it allowed me to focus solely on the character and I could pull my palate from the image rather than coming up with one on my own.
Also, what a lovely train.

Concept for class. Not an original concept really, kinda just a mush of every sci-fi ever. It's forming into a story I thought of that goes with M83's Midnight City. It'll be really cool. :) BUT more importantly this class is teaching me how to properly render and light a 3-d drawing of a character. :D

I just found this and realized I hadn't posted it. Feng is a character I designed to model in Maya and is the reason I hate that program. I love this character, but I could never get her to look the way I wanted when I was modeling her. So one night when I was one corrupted file away from throwing my computer out the window, I gave up and did this; a full cleaned up turnaround of Feng, exactly how she is supposed to be. And to avoid confusion, this is not a draw over of the model, it is free-hand.
As a side note, Feng is a scrappy Chinese pirate from the early 1700ds in South-East Asia. Her armor is gathered from various fights and plunders resulting in her thrown-together, scrappy look.

This is a short two-page comic I am working on. It's a present for someone, so it is more of a joke than anything. Cheesy hero/ damsel in distress action pose comic.
I pulled from Bill Waterson's style he uses for Spaceman Spiff's environments in Calvin and Hobbes. I've always loved the weird colors he uses. I am also pulling from Maurice Nobel because you can't have a desert scene without a little bit of Wile E Coyote. :)
For Those of you who know me, you might guess who this is supposed to be. :)

This is the class I am taking this semester, again with Ernie Gilbert. It is a concept development class and our first assignment is Little Red Riding Hood. We had to take the well known story and design Characters and and Environments.
I chose to set mine in India during British rule. Red is an Indian bride, because Indian woman wear red on their wedding day, who leaves hours before her wedding to make sure her sick Grandmother will be able to see her in her Wedding dress.
Her grandmother lives in a dilapidated abandoned temple.
Modeled after Sepoys, who were Indian men in the British army during Colonization
A beautiful Indian bride.
This is From my character design class last semester taught by Ernie Gilbert. It was a fantastic class and I learned a lot! Ernie is a fantastic teacher.
This was a self portrait exercise where we had to design ourselves and an imaginary friend. I naturally chose an anteater because they're awesome and they wear sweaters. Look it up; its a thing.
In this assignment we were to chose one of three books and design five of the characters. Percy Jackson, Hitchhikers Guide, and a third which I can't remember, were the choices because they had little visual reference associated with them.
Percy Jackson Character Development
Grover, Annabelle, Percy, Ares, Tyson
This was a similar assignment, but with books that had a LOT of visual reference. The choices were Harry Potter, The Wizard of Oz, and Oliver Twist. I chose Harry Potter because it was the most difficult, but chose characters that I thought could have been improved. I wasn't about to touch Harry, Ron, or Hermione.
Harry Potter Character Development
McGonnagle, Sirius, Tonks, Fleur, and Moody
For example; Fleur. She needed to be WAY hotter in the movie. That actress was so boring to look at.
She should've looked like this.
